~ Joseph Campbell
What has happened over the past several thousand years is that the Masculine Principle has run rough-shod over the Feminine and She has been forsaken for He. You see it in the disregard that the Christian founders of citystates, military leaders, kings, and emperors had for the natural world and for natural peoples, all because of a misunderstanding of the word and concept of 'Dominion'. That misunderstanding served their greed and hastened a corruption of the scriptures. Distortions of scripture and of practices of faith were permitted because they excused ~ even gave validation to ~ violence against and exploitation of those who somehow offended the values of a Papacy, of Kingdoms, of nations that only had eyes for a Masculine iteration of God. So fire and fury were visited upon nature religions, upon Nature itself. In history, theory, and practice, the Church erased women's sacred position and power. This we know. What is equally clear is that the honest force of the Feminine must be restored if the Faith is also to be honest... and authentic.
In this time when the Religious Right is rearing its ugly head in defiance of the simultaneous rise of a call for the expansion of rights for those whom it has always warred against (women; anyone who serves the creative, cooperative, and therefore Feminine Principle; those who embrace natural law rather than man-made ~ hence imbalanced, patriarchal ~ laws) and for the Earth It/Herself... In this time, it is clear that no truce shall be forthcoming.
It is necessary, in times of war, to understand one's "enemy". I do not view the overly-zealous so-called Christians as my enemy, but they surely do see *me* as *theirs*. Everything I am and everything that I stand for, exemplifies the works and motivations of "evil", in their context.
So understand this, please. And no, this does not apply to *all Christians*. This is addressing the fundamental disease that has infected the Faith, and therefore made that Path one far more harmful ~ in its organized forms ~ than helpful to humanity and to the world we live in and upon.
Understand that what is happening, with the recent increased and intensified fervor and fury of the Religious Right wanting to slam down on civil liberties and human rights and environmental protections, is a lashing out against the Feminine Principle, so intimidated are they by its power and its honesty. See, natural law does not operate within concepts of punishment and reward. It knows no concept of "evil" or "righteousness". It does not perform nor enforce morality based upon a being providing evidence of "goodness" or "badness", "rightness" or "wrongness". Its moral code is based solely upon the dynamics of harmony or friction. Whatsoever generates harmony, persists. Whatsoever generates friction, by its very nature, must end. Whosoever serves and generates harmony, aligns with what is eternal. Whosoever serves and generates friction, aligns with the inevitably finite. It can and does and must encompass all lightness and darkness. It can contain all polarized opposites. Both the Feminine and Masculine principles must be acknowledged and equally manifest for Life to continue. Natural law threatens the foundation of a distorted Christianity. It shakes it loose from the layers of illusion that seek to control and manipulate wills by exploiting willingness. The "manhood" of the Church, exemplified by the cross standing erect without a circle, is threatened by those who dare to embrace a shameless, blameless morality, which is what the Feminine Principle teaches.
So you see, of course the presence of Transgender (including non-binary, gender-nonconforming, and intersex) people threaten the Church. We *are* the cross and the circle. We quite literally embody the balance that it has been forsaken. No matter our own unique and individual expressions or manifestation of identity, we stand in the world as a living, breathing example of the Original Creation. We challenge, in a living way, by BEing, the distortions placed upon the Faith by those, who, generation after generation, suppressed the Feminine Principle to the point of oppressing anyone who dared serve it. We live, and by living, we upset their cart of lies, which attempts to excuse their hatred, violence, hypocrisy, misogyny, abuse, and exploitation of all that lives. We symbolize ~ just like women have, just like indigenous people have, just like pagan faiths have, just like science does ~ what they have willfully removed from their own beingness.
Who, exactly, is the Rebel? Who, exactly, serves their own Pride? It may shock them... It WILL shock them... to learn that the God and the "Savior" they worship ~ if he is not a Lord of Love, if he is not a Prince of Peace ~ is not the "God" they think he is.
The established *natural* order ~ the rule of natural law ~ IS the Creation. It exists in its perfection. It needs no order imposed upon it, it needs no controlling. It needs no interference by mankind.
And we... we who embody the Creation before the imposition of the imbalanced Masculine Will upon it... we are here to show you... show you the way back Home.
The cross without the circle. THAT is the "abomination".

The circle on this Celtic Cross is modeled after the wedding bands worn by the elder John Hopkins and his wife, Mellusina, signifying the Sacred Marriage, not just the mortal one. The Atonement (at-one-ment) of the Christ is the reconciliation of the Masculine and the Feminine principles. Hence, the sublime gorgeousness of the surrender of the man into the greater Will of Spirit, embodying the Feminine as he does so. Becoming a living "yes", a vessel of willingness, unified with the Will. THAT is the crucifixion. The Hopkins family were devoted to restoring the Feminine Principle to the Church and to holy life, and did so, beautifully, in everything they aspired to manifest in the world.
