Jared Goodell Show 04/25/2016 (link here):
Jared is a good guy. He is respectful, though I really need to keep educating him on appropriate terminology *wincing over some of his phrasing and ideas*. He asks questions and really wants to hear the answers. He may not ever change his mind, conservative as he is, but he is not hostile towards me nor towards the transgender community. This is why I keep going back to talk on his show. He provides a space for our collective voice and that, no matter the bias or slant, is invaluable. Our perspective is reaching an audience that we normally can’t even begin to open up a dialog with.
So… awesome sauce for Jared and his continuing to reach out to me so that I can attempt to speak ~ not only about my own lived experience as a trans man ~ but on behalf of the entire transgender community.
Now, if I can only be a LITTLE bit more awake for his early morning shows (and get more coffee in me) before I have to do the thinking and the speaking.
